1958 - Mercedes-Benz 190 SL (856)
5283 VK Boxtel
This 190 Sl is like a 190 SL actually should have been! The owner of this car is a great Mercedes-Benz enthusiast, but he finds the engine of an original 190 SL to small to drive long tours through the mountains. He therefore completely adapted this 190 SL to his wishes.
For example, the engine of the car has been replaced by a "Heckflosse" engine model W111. The original 190 SL engine has a capacity of 1.900 cc and delivers 105 horsepower. The 190 SL engine crankshaft is triple layered. The now mounted engine has a capacity of 2.000 cc with a fivefold layered crankshaft.
This engine has now 120 horsepower due a modern fuel injection system! The car now has the engine it deserves. This engine gives the car more acceleration and a higher top speed. Mountain up is going a lot better now! This Mercedes-Benz also has power steering.
In order to improve road ability, wider tires were mounted in size 195/70 R14. To handle the speed, drum brakes were replaced by disc brakes. The headlights are replaced by Bi-Xenon lights.
Whether the car has become more attractive by these lights or not, the original lights can easily be replaced any time.
The car was completely restored a few years ago and it’s still in top condition. The restoration is documented with pictures. After the restoration, the car drove about 8.000 trouble-free kilometers. A great 190 SL for those who want to make long tours! The car comes with a Dutch registration and a hardtop with sunroof.
