The story

Noble Rot 8 -  CHATEAU DE PIERRE BISE,  CLAUDE ET JOELLE PAPIN -ANJOU, LOIRE

Peter Lippmann is a still life photographer, born in New York, but has been living and working in Paris for over 30 years. His contemporary yet historical fine art photo works refer to a long prolonged era. Peter’s work is technically brilliant in color and detail. From Georges de la Tours Magdalene and the Flames to the Noble Rot still lives, all the images pay homage to art master pieces with a contemporary twist. The combination of his minimalistic style, the theme decay and his apparent simplicity makes his photographic works for many people intriguing and well liked.

In the Noble Rot serie, Peter Lippmann gives us an unique way to express one of the biggest human fears, decay. By showing us his grand series ëNoble Rotí. Lippmann has accepted the inevitable and show us the beauty of the destruction of decay, sometimes slowly and sometimes fiery. Focussing with his ëNoble Rotí series on the rotting process of grapes. With his use of light he lets us realize the finiteness of life and wants us to no longer to avoid but bear it with dignity instead.
